About Aubrey

Born in West Texas, I was raised with the privilege of experiencing diverse cultures across the globe and throughout the United States. As a result of my upbringing, I have always had a passion for human rights and social justice, hoping to provide others with the tools to flourish in their communities and systems. In 2017, I proudly earned my Masters in Clinical Counseling and Art Therapy from Adler University, allowing me to bring my two passions of working with people and creating art to one place. Since graduating and entering my career, I have witnessed the profound effects of utilizing art as a tool for communication, self-reflection, and healing. When I am not working, I can be found making art while listening to music, exploring the many exciting finds in Austin, and playing with my rambunctious toddler!

Specializations

My expertise spans the spectrum of mental health needs, with a focus on eating disorders, trauma and its related complexities, anxiety, depression, and mood disorders. Across diverse age groups and backgrounds, I find particular fulfillment in working with children and young adults, providing them with a safe haven where their voices are heard and their experiences validated. Additionally, I offer comprehensive family therapy and support, facilitating growth and harmony within familial structures..

Working with Me

Beginning therapy can be daunting, which is why I believe in utilizing humor, art, and compassion as some of my main tools in supporting the individual. Drawing from a versatile toolkit that includes person-centered therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), feminist therapy, and a family systems approach, I tailor treatment plans to suit your unique needs. Together, we'll navigate towards self-empowerment, healing, and personal growth.
